Eye Camouflage and false eyespots are commonly found on many types of insects, fish, birds and mammals. Consider the “eyes” projected on the tail fan of a peacock or the round eye like markings on many moths and butterflies. Even tropical fish have false eyes to distract predators as does the bobcat with white eye type markings behind each ear – again to distract and repel predators that might attack them. Eyes are an incredibly important means with which to communicate among all earthly species and in most cases project a threat or alarm message to others that would attack them.
Nite Guard duplicated this eye alarm using a red flash that creates fear in all night animals they feel threatened and leave the area.
